Daily Bread: Faith to Walk When You Cannot See the Way

😇 Shalom to all.
God’s word today:

“By FAITH Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, OBEYED and went, even though he did NOT KNOW WHERE he was going. By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. For he was LOOKING FORWARD to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.”
‭‭(Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭8‬-‭10‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

Hebrews 11:8–10 shows that Abraham’s faith not only believed that God existed, but also believed in God’s power and faithfulness so that he dared to obey, set out, wait, and continue walking even though he had not seen all the fulfillment of His promises.

Note:
God did not give Abraham the entire map of life’s journey.
God calls and speaks promises.

Abraham DID NOT KNOW all the details about his future, but he KNEW WHO the God who called him.

Abraham’s faith and obedience taught three things:

1. When God calls, obey—even if you don’t know everything.
2. When God has not fulfilled His promise, be patient—don’t stop believing.
3. Even when we don’t see it all, keep trusting—God is doing something greater than what we can see.

We too don’t know:
* what is our future,
* or what the whole journey that God has prepared is like.

But Hebrews 11 reminds us that:
We don’t have to know the whole journey to take the next step with God.

Faith makes us able to walk today because we believe in God who holds tomorrow.

Prayer:
“Lord, teach me to have faith like Abraham. When I don’t know the way of life ahead of me, enable me to continue to believe that You are faithful. Help me remain obedient and patient.
In the name of Jesus. Amen.”
