Daily Bread: Faithful to the End, Keep Running Your Race

😇 Shalom to all.
God’s word today:

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a GREAT CLOUD OF WITNESSES, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles us, and let us run with perseverance the RACE marked out for us. Let us FIX OUR EYES ON JESUS, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
(Hebrews 12:1–2)

In Hebrews chapter 11, we are introduced to many witnesses of faith: Abraham, Moses, Rahab, and many others. Then, in Hebrews chapter 12, the writer encourages believers not merely to admire their faith, but to RUN OUR OWN RACE OF FAITH.

The word “race” portrays the journey of faith as a competition that requires perseverance, discipline, and endurance. The writer does not say that this race will be easy. Rather, because there are challenges and obstacles, we are called to keep running.

There are seasons when we run quickly. There are seasons when we can only walk slowly. There are even times when we feel extremely weak. But the calling remains the same:

Do not stop. Keep moving forward. Remain faithful.

Perseverance does not mean that we never become tired. Perseverance means we do not give up when we are tired.

Therefore, the life of faith is not merely about how we begin, but about how we remain faithful until the end.

By the guidance of God’s Word, we run this race of faith—“fixing our eyes on Jesus.”

We cannot endure simply by looking at ourselves. LOOK TO JESUS WHO WAS CRUCIFIED FOR US.

When you are tired—look to Jesus.
When you are disappointed—look to Jesus.
When you have not yet seen the answer to your prayer—look to Jesus.
When the journey feels long—look to Jesus.

Perhaps today you cannot run as fast as you did yesterday. That’s okay.

Keep believing.
Keep trusting.
Keep being faithful.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, empower me to keep moving forward in the race of faith You have set before me. Help me to lay aside every sin and every burden that hinders me. When I am tired, strengthen me. When I am disappointed, restore my heart and soul. And help me to keep my eyes always fixed on You, my Lord, who leads me and perfects my faith.
