God’s word today:
“BY FAITH Enoch was taken away so that he did not experience death, and he was not found, because God had taken him away. For before he was taken, he received this testimony, that HE PLEASED GOD. But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for whoever comes to God must believe that He exists and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
(Hebrews 11:5–6, NKJV)
Hebrews 11:5–6 presents Enoch as an example of someone who lived by faith—not according to what was visible, but according to his conviction that God truly exists and is present in his life.
Genesis 5:22 says:
“And Enoch walked with God three hundred years…”
The phrase “walked with God” describes a life of continually walking in relationship with God. Therefore, Enoch’s faith was not merely believing that God exists, but living his everyday life with God for 300 years.
Enoch lived also in a generation where people could not physically see God, yet he believed that God truly exists.
God certainly blesses those who seek Him, but the greatest reward is not merely health, success, material possessions, or a life free from problems.
The greatest reward is God Himself—His presence, fellowship with Him, and ultimately eternal life with Him.
Hebrews 11:5 says:
“Before he was taken, he received this testimony, that he pleased God.”
Enoch did not live his life seeking the approval or recognition of people. The most important testimony of his life was that he pleased God.
And Hebrews 11:6 gives us a very clear principle:
“Without faith it is impossible to please Him.”
And the greatest question for us today is not:
“Does my life look successful in the eyes of people?”
But:
“Does my life please God?”
By the grace of God, let us live by faith, believing that God is with us.
May we be able to say:
“Lord, I may not always see what You are doing, but I believe that You are there. I may not always understand Your ways, but I choose to walk with You. I do not seek only Your blessings; I seek You.”
