😇 Shalom to all.
God’s word today:
“Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, of instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. And this we will do, if God permits.”
(Hebrews 6:1–3)
The Christian life is like building a house. A house can stand firm only when it has a strong foundation. Your early spiritual journey may have included spectacular experiences, but lasting spiritual growth still requires the foundational truths of God’s Word as the basis of your life’s house.
The writer of Hebrews reminds every believer to establish a solid foundation in these six basic doctrines:
1. Repentance from dead works,
2. Faith toward God,
3. Teaching about baptisms,
4. The laying on of hands,
5. The resurrection of the dead,
6. Eternal judgment.
A house without a foundation will easily collapse when storms come. In the same way, a life that is not built upon the foundation of God’s Word will be easily shaken by trials and false teachings, or the pressures of life and temptations.
Today, let us examine the foundation of our lives once again. Do we truly understand these six foundational teachings? Are we diligently studying them, believing them, and putting them into practice? God desires every one of His children to have a firm foundation and to continue growing into spiritual maturity in Christ.
Reflection:
Are you willing to keep growing toward spiritual maturity?
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, help me build my life upon the firm foundation of Your Word. Help me to learn the foundational teachings of Christ, believe them, and live them out, so that I may grow into spiritual maturity in You and remain steadfast in faith through every season of life. Amen.
Bless you
