Daily Bread: Guard Your Heart and Remain Faithful to God

God’s word today:

“BEWARE, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but EXHORT ONE ANOTHER daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, while it is said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS as in the rebellion.””

Heavenly Father,

Today I come before You with a heart that longs to remain faithful to You. Help me and empower me to guard my heart, to continue trusting in You, and to turn away from what is evil in Your sight.

Lord, help me to stay watchful and always beware that sin is deceitful and has the power to harden the human heart. Correct me when I begin to stray, and grant me the grace to choose humility, to repent, and to return to walking in Your ways.

Help me to encourage others in faith and hope every day, so that our faith may remain alive and burning brightly. Give me a tender heart that is willing to hear Your voice when You speak. Teach me to keep trusting You and to hold firmly to the faith in You until the end of my life.
