Daily Bread: Defeating Temptation Like Jesus Did

God’s word today:

“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

How does knowing God’s Word help us to overcome temptation from the devil and from the lust of our flesh?

In Matthew chapter 4, Jesus our Lord in His humanity showed us how when facing the three temptations from the devil, each time He declared: “It is written”. Then Jesus quoted and spoke the verses written in the Scripture. Jesus knew the power of the written words in the bible. It means that we all can overcome temptation from the devil and from the lust of our flesh. Do you believe it?
What can you do today to know God’s Word better?

I believe the power of God in the written words of the holy Scripture dan I shall keep them in my heart. Amen.
