Daily Bread: God Is Working Things Out For You

God’s word today:

There is a hymnal song entitled ‘Blessed Assurance’. This song was written by Fanny Crosby, a Christian whose life was marked by great difficulties: when she was six years old, the doctor treated her wrongly so that she became blind; She married a man who was also blind. And blessed with a child, but their child died at eight years old. Not long after, her husband also died.
Without her family, Crosby went through difficult times in her life. But in her difficulties she actually was able to make many songs that later encouraging millions of people around the world.

Even though Fanny Crosby’s natural eyes could not see, her spiritual eyes saw God who was powerful and working in the midst of her suffering.

O Lord, grant me to be able to see Your work, and the faith to continue to believe God is also working in the difficulties of my life to bring Your goodness to me. Amen.
