😇 Shalom to all.
God’s word today:
“For though by this time you ought to BE TEACHERS, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of FULL AGE, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”
(Hebrews 5:12-14 NKJV)
God desires every believer to grow. He does not want us to remain spiritual infants, but to become mature followers of Christ who know His voice and can encourage others – even BE TEACHER OF GOD’S WORDS.
The writer of Hebrews lovingly warns that when we become dull of hearing, our spiritual growth slows down. Instead of teaching others, we still need to be taught the basics. Instead of enjoying the solid food of God’s Word, we remain on milk. Over time, our spiritual senses become weak, making it harder to discern what is right and pleasing to God.
The good news is that God has not stopped speaking. His Word is still living and powerful. As we humbly listen, receive, and obey what He says, He matures us day by day. The Holy Spirit trains our hearts to recognize His truth and walk in His ways.
Today, ask the Lord for a listening heart. Every step of obedience brings you closer to the maturity He desires for you.
Prayer:
Father, keep my heart soft and my ears open to Your voice. Help me not only to hear Your Word, but to be a doer of the words. Grow me into a mature disciple who knows Your truth, discerns Your will, and encourages others to follow You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Bless you
