Daily Bread: The Blessed Hope of Christ’s Return

😇 Shalom to all.
God’s word today:

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places. If it were not so, I would have told you. FOR I GO TO PREPARE A PLACE FOR YOU. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.”
(John 14:1–3)

Today is the commemoration of Jesus’ Ascension into heaven. His ascension was not the end of His work, but the continuation of God’s plan of salvation.

In John 14:1–3, Jesus said that He was going to prepare a place for those who believe in Him. This shows that heaven is the eternal destination of God’s people, and Jesus Himself is preparing it. He did not leave us, His disciples, without hope. Rather, because He ascended into heaven, believers have the assurance that we have a place with Him.

Therefore, this world is not the eternal home of believers. In the midst of struggles, uncertainty, and suffering, Jesus comforts us: “Do not let your hearts be troubled.” Hope for believers in Christ is not only about this present life, but also about the eternal home Christ has prepared.

Therefore, live with faith, faithfulness, and hope. The Lord who ascended into heaven has not forgotten His people. He is preparing a place, and He will come again.
“That where I am, there you may be also.” (John 14:3)

I believe that Jesus has ascended into heaven, and thank God I have sure assurance one day I too will be where my Lord is. Amen.

Bless you
