Daily Bread: Jesus Remains the Same Forever

😇 Shalom to all.
God’s word today:

“But of the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions.” And, “You, Lord, laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the work of your hands; they will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment, like a robe you will roll them up, like a garment they will be changed. But you are the same, and your years will have no end.””
‭‭(Hebrews‬ ‭1‬:‭8‬-‭12‬ ‭ESV‬‬)

Hebrews 1:8–12 quotes several passages from the Old Testament (Psalm 45:6–7 and Psalm 102:25–27) to clearly reveal who Jesus truly is—not only from the New Testament perspective, but as One who has been declared since the beginning.
Who Jesus is?

First, “Your throne, O God…” This is very powerful. The Father Himself calls the Son “God.” THIS AFFIRMS THE DEITY OF JESUS— Amen.

Second, “the scepter of Your kingdom is a scepter of righteousness… You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness.” This reveals the character of Jesus’ reign. He is anointed because of His righteousness—not like earthly kings who fall into sin, but a King who is perfect in justice and holiness. Amen.

Third, “God, Your God, has anointed You… above Your companions.” THIS POINTS TO THE MESSIAH (meaning: “the Anointed One”). Jesus is anointed to fulfill the mission of salvation—filled with the Holy Spirit, He came to save humanity and to reign as the righteous King. Amen.

Fourth, “In the beginning, You laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands…” This declares that JESUS IS THE CREATOR of the universe. All creation will change and pass away, but He remains the same. This speaks of the eternity and immutability of Jesus Christ—He is not bound by time and is not changed by circumstances. Amen.

The world we live in is constantly changing. Situations shift, people may disappoint us, and even the things we think are certain can one day disappear. But Hebrews reminds us: Jesus remains the same.
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8)

This gives us a firm hope. We do not rely on a temporary world, but on the eternal Christ. Amen.

In every season of life, may you entrust your life to Him.
When everything changes, Jesus does not change.
When the world shakes, His throne stands firm forever. Amen.

Bless you
