Daily Bread: A New Life of Purpose in Christ

😇 Shalom to all.
God’s word today:

“Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.”
‭‭(Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭28‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

In Ephesus some believers likely came from very broken pasts—including stealing, dishonesty, and other sinful lifestyles. This tells us something important: The early church was not made up of perfect people. It was made up of redeemed people.

Some believers in Ephesus had been thieves. In a wealthy trade city like Ephesus, theft—whether through fraud, manipulation, or direct stealing—was common. But when they came to Christ, they could not continue living the old way.

The gospel confronts our past.
Grace does not excuse sin—it empowers change.

Perhaps our past came from broken lives or sinful habits. But in Christ, we are called to a new way of living. The Christian life is not just about stopping sin. It is about becoming a blessing. When Christ changes us, God gives us a life with purpose.

May the Lord transform our hearts so deeply that we move from attitude of taking to giving, from selfishness to generosity, from brokenness to blessing.
Thanks be to God, in Christ our past lives do not define us. Amen.

By God’s grace my life in Christ changes into a life of purpose ang blessing. Amen.

Bless you
