Daily Bread: Salvation Begins with ‘But God’

😇 Shalom to all.
God’s word today:

“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, has MADE US ALIVE together with Christ, even when we were dead in our trespasses—by grace you have been saved.”
(Ephesians 2:4–5, NKJV)

After describing the condition of humanity as being dead because of sin, the Apostle Paul brings us to the most beautiful news: “But God…”—God took action.
The initiative of salvation does not come from human effort, but from God, who is rich in mercy. His mercy is not merely a feeling of pity, but the concrete and saving action of God’s love.

While humanity was spiritually helpless, God acted first. He made us alive together with Christ—granting new life, a restored relationship with God, and true hope. This new life is not the result of human good works, but is a pure gift of God’s grace.

This truth reminds the church that salvation is entirely the work of God. Therefore, our response is to live with gratitude, humility, and obedience.

May we continue to live as those who have been made alive by the grace of God, walking in His light and glory. The Lord enables us. Amen.

Bless you
