Daily Bread: Living Under the Authority of Christ

😇 Shalom to all.
God’s word today:

“And God placed all things under His feet and appointed Him to be head over everything for the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills everything in every way.”
(Ephesians 1:22-23)

The apostle Paul reveals a profound truth about who Jesus Christ is: “God has placed all things under His feet” – This declaration speaks of CHRIST’s ABSOLUTE DOMINION and unmatched authority over all creation.

Yet Paul goes even further. He tells us that the One who reigns supreme over the universe has been given as “Head over all things to the Church”. As
body connected to the head, this statement reveals a deeply personal and covenantal relationship. Christ is not only the Lord of all creation; He is also the loving Head of His people. As Head, He leads, directs, protects, and nurtures His Body, the Church, according to His wisdom and grace.

How Living Under Christ’s Authority?

Ephesians 1:22–23 calls all christians to respond to Christ’s supreme authority with humble and fully surrender – recognizing that Jesus Christ alone is the Head over all our personal lives. Such surrender is not a one-time act, but a daily and intentional choice. We submit to Christ’s authority by seeking His guidance through prayer, immersing ourselves in His Word, and cultivating an intimate relationship with Him. As we ALIGN our thoughts, words, and actions with His teaching, His authority begins to shape every area of our lives. As we place our trust fully in Christ, we will experience the reality of what Paul proclaims: the fullness of Christ at work in us and among us.

My Lord Jesus, You are indeed the Head over all things and the loving Shepherd of Your Church. I am part of Your Church, so help me I would surrender every area of my lives to Your authority. Shape my hearts in humility and obedience, that I may live as Your body for Your glory. Amen.

Bless you
