Daily Bread: Seeing Life Through God’s Perspective

😇 Shalom to all.
God’s word today:

“…And I always remember you in my prayers, asking God the Father…
that He may enlighten the eyes of your hearts…”
(Ephesians 1:16-21 ESV)

Paul prayed for the church in Ephesus—three prayer points that are very relevant to the church of God throughout the ages. The second prayer point:

2. Enlightened Eyes of the Heart.

Next, Paul prays that the eyes of the believers’ hearts may be enlightened. With physical eyes, all people are able to see the world around them, yet many fail to understand spiritually what they see or what is happening, because there is darkness in the heart.

Enlightened eyes of the heart enable us to view life—both personal experiences and world events—from God’s perspective. They allow us to understand God’s will and His purpose behind the processes and struggles of life.

Example:
From ancient times, people have been accustomed to seeing birds flying in the sky. Yet for those whose eyes of the heart have been enlightened, this ordinary sight becomes an understanding of God’s providential care for His people: – “LOOK AT the birds of the sky, which neither sow nor reap nor gather provisions into barns, but are FEED BY YOUR FATHER who is in heaven. Aren’t YOU MUCH MORE SUPERIOR TO THE BIRDS?” (Matthew 6:26 TB)

In the Name of Jesus, O God, Holy Spirit, may yiu enlighten the eyes of my heart so that I can understand and judge the life events and struggles, decisions and my future, not based on my own understanding but based on the truth of God’s Word. Amen.

Bless you
