God’s word today:
“For HE CHOSE us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love”
(Ephesians 1:4 NIV)
This verse reminds us that our faith did not begin with us—it began with God. Before we knew Him, before we could seek Him, and even before the world existed—God already knew us and chose us.
We did not come to God by chance, nor by our own strength, nor we were better than others. No. We came to Him because of grace. God is the One who loved us first, who called us, and who opened our hearts to believe in Jesus – “We love him, because HE FIRST LOVED US.” (1 John 4:19 KJV)
We are not people who simply ‘breathe oxygen and pass through life on this earth.’ Our lives have a purpose—we have been chosen by God to live holy lives, to be loved by Him, and to take part in His perfect plan.
Reflection:
•I am in Christ not because I chose Him first, but because He first chose me.
•If God chose me, then my life is valuable to Him.
O Lord, thank You for choosing me even before I knew You. Help and enable me to live according to Your calling, and teach me to walk in love and holiness. Amen.
