Daily Bread: Renewed by God, Alert in Spirit

😇 Shalom to all.
God’s word today:

(Matthew 4:11)
“Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Jesus.”

(Luke 4:13)
“When the devil had finished every temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time.”

In the account of the temptation of Jesus in the wilderness, we learn powerful lessons about how Jesus faced and overcame temptation. But it is also important to see what happened after the temptation.

First, from Matthew we see that every temptation has an end — “The devil left Jesus.”
This reminds us that temptation does not last forever. It has limits.
And there is something beautiful here: after the temptation came restoration — “The angels came and ministered to Jesus.”

Believe and be thankful: God does not only strengthen us during temptation — He also restores, renews, and refreshes us afterward.

Second, Luke gives us an important warning: “The devil departed from Him and waited for an opportune time.”
This means the spiritual life is not just about overcoming temptation once, but about living alert, prayerful, and close to God every day.
Today’s victory is not a reason to relax — it is a reminder to stay humble and watchful.

“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”
(1 Peter 5:8)

Lord, help me not to become careless, but to remain watchful in my spiritual walk. You are my Helper, and I choose to humble myself and rely on Your strength. Amen.

Bless you
