Daily Bread: When the Spirit Leads You Through Hard Seasons

God’s word today:
‭‭
“Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.”
(Matthew 4:1)

Look again at the verse above. Who led Jesus into the wilderness? It is very clear that “Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness.” The wilderness in the Bible is a picture of a season of life facing challenges and difficulties. When God’s Spirit leads His people in that direction, the “desert season” is not always a sign of God’s anger at that person. Sometimes it is actually His plan to shape, test, and strengthen faith.

If you are in a “desert” season: experiencing difficulties, stress, confusion, frustration—don’t immediately assume God has abandoned you. He may be preparing you for something great through this process.

Believe and meditate on the promise of God’s word in Romans 8:28:
“We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, to those who are called according to his purpose.” Amen.
