😇 Shalom to all.
God’s word today:
““Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’”
(Matthew 7:21-23 NIV)
In this passage, Jesus gives one of the most startling warnings in the Gospels. He says that not all who say “Lord, Lord” will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but only those who do the will of the Father.
And Jesus also makes a very sharp statement: “I never knew you!” The reason that they cannot enter the Kingdom of heaven, even though they know how to use the name of the Lord is: because they have never had a true relationship (never a close relationship with Christ—despite outward appearances of spirituality). A statement like this is indeed difficult to understand by limited human mind.
# Biblical Wisdom: Relationship with Christ are more important than achievements.
What God desires first is not what we do for Him, but whether we belong to Him, whether we know Him and are known by Him.
“Then they asked him, “WHAT MUST WE DO to do the works God requires?” Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to BELIEVE in the one he has sent.””
(John 6:28-29 NIV)
Let’s pray:
Lord Jesus, search my heart, so that my whole heart may believe in You, whom the Heavenly Father has sent.
Mold me into a person who not only calls on Your name “Lord, Lord”, but a person who is willing to live in obedience, willing to learn to do the will of our Heavenly Father and grow in love for the Lord. May I be known by You and know You. May my life be a pleasing aroma to You. Amen.
Bless you
