😇 Shalom to all.
God’s word today:
Two days before the Passover, the atmosphere around Jesus was very dark. The religious leaders were not seeking truth; they were secretly planning how to arrest and kill Him (Matt. 26:3–5). It was a plot full of fear, pride, and hostility toward the Only One who came to save them. Darkness was indeed closing in.
Yet in that same moment, something beautiful happened. While the enemies of truth were plotting evil, a woman came to Jesus with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume. She poured it on Him.
“A woman came to him with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, which she poured on his head as he was reclining at the table. When the disciples saw this, they were indignant. “Why this waste?” they asked. “This perfume could have been sold at a high price and the money given to the poor.” Aware of this, Jesus said to them, “Why are you bothering this woman? She has done a beautiful thing to me. The poor you will always have with you, but you will not always have me. When she poured this perfume on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial.”
(Matthew 26:7-12 NIV)
To many people around her, this seemed wasteful. But to Jesus, it was precious.
Why did she do it? Because she knew something deeply: Jesus had forgiven her sins. She understood the grace she had received. Her act was not about showing off devotion—it was a response of gratitude.
A forgiven heart often expresses love in ways that others may not understand.
Jesus said, “She did it to prepare Me for burial.” (Matt. 26:12)
Without fully realizing it, her act of love aligned with God’s redemptive plan. While others were plotting death, she was honoring the Savior who would soon give His life.
This passage reminds us of an important truth:
Even when evil is at work in the world, genuine gratitude toward Christ still shines brightly.
DARKNESS DOES NOT STOP TRUE WORSHIP.
In a world that may oppose Christ, let us be like this woman: responding to Jesus with grateful hearts, honoring Him because WE KNOW THAT ONLY JESUS COULD FORGIVE OUR SINS—and He has done it.
Thank you Jesus.
Thank you my Lord, my Savior.
Bless you
