😇 Shalom to all.
God’s word today:
“In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to people in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets.”
(Ephesians 3:4-5 NIV)
The apostle Paul speaks about the “mystery of Christ,” which is the truth of God’s plan of salvation that was once hidden, but has now been revealed by God at the proper time. This mystery was “hidden,” yet it already existed long ago (during the Old Testament era); it was not fully disclosed until God’s plan of salvation was fulfilled and made clear through the death and resurrection of Jesus.
Perhaps a simple analogy helps: The Old Testament = a house blueprint; the Gospel = the completed house.
The blueprint is true and important, but only after the house is finished do we fully understand its real form.
Thus, in the Old Testament era—the time of the patriarchs such as Abraham, Moses, and others—God’s plan of salvation already existed, but it was communicated in the form of promises, shadows, and prophecies, like a house blueprint. In the New Testament era, God revealed this mystery through the Holy Spirit. The apostles understood that Jesus Christ is the center of all God’s promises and prophecies in former times, and that now salvation is available to all who believe in Him.
In the name of Jesus, I thank the Holy Spirit who has revealed the mystery of Christ to me, namely God’s salvation. I believe that through the sacrifice of Jesus I have been made righteous and saved. And the Lord enables me to live in the light of God and empowers me to remain faithful as a witness of Christ. Amen.
Bless you
