😇 Shalom to all.
God’s word today:
“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother—which is the first commandment with a promise—so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”
(Ephesians 6:1–3)
Ephesians 6:1–3 places the command to honor parents not merely as a matter of family ethics, but as part of God’s will that brings real blessing.
Often this command feels simple, but that is precisely where our hearts are tested. In a culture that increasingly emphasizes personal freedom, God’s Word reminds us that His blessing flows through simple yet faithful obedience.
Honoring parents does not mean they are always right, but it means we choose to remain right before God. When we hold back hurtful words, when we choose to listen patiently, when we continue to love even when it is not easy—that is where we walk in God’s promise.
God’s promises are not empty. Many can testify that a life that honors parents is filled with peace, protection, and clear direction. God sees the attitude of the heart, and He is faithful to fulfill His Word.
“Lord, teach me to honor my parents sincerely. Give me a gentle, patient, and loving heart, especially when my parents speak or act wrongly. Enable me to obey ‘in the Lord’ and to experience Your promises as a reality in my life. Amen.”
Bless you
