😇 Shalom to all.
God’s word today:
“Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.”
(Ephesians 5:1-2 NKJV)
Many people think that the Christian life is merely about obeying various rules. However, Ephesians 5:1–2 shows something deeper—“be imitators of God,” which means living by following the example of God.
Paul reminds us that we are God’s beloved children. A child naturally will imitate his or her parents. God is our heavenly Father. In the same way, the life of a believer should increasingly reflect the character of our heavenly Father—choosing a life of love and forgiveness rather than revenge, and humility rather than pride.
How can we learn to imitate God?
Even though the form of God cannot be seen with our physical eyes, through the Son of God who became man—in the person of Jesus—He has given the greatest example through His sacrifice on the cross as proof that God deeply loves humanity. For Jesus is the brightness of God’s glory and the express image of His person (Heb.1:3).
God’s love is not shown merely in words, but through the sacrifice of His Son. When we choose to love, forgive, and serve others, we are actually imitating Christ. May we, each day, seek to build our lives with attitudes, words, and actions that reflect the example of Christ.
Lord, teach us to live as children of God who reflect the example of Christ. Shape our hearts and enable our lives to become an offering that is pleasing to You. Amen.
Bless you
