😇 Shalom to all.
God’s word today:
“Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.”
(Ephesians 4:29 NKJV)
Verse in Ephesians 4:29 gives a very important principle about how a Christian should use his or her words. Paul not only forbids corrupt or harmful speech, but he also teaches the purpose of a believer’s words, namely: that those WHO HEAR MAY RECEIVE GRACE.
This is a beautiful truth, right? Paul is saying that your words can become a channel of God’s grace to those who hear. This means that when people hear what we say, they may:
•be strengthened,
•receive comfort,
•experience the love of God,
•and gain new hope.
Perhaps around us there are people who are tired, disappointed, or struggling in life. Sometimes God does not immediately send a great miracle, but He uses simple words from a fellow believer to strengthen them.
Therefore, let us learn to guard our mouths. Before speaking, we should ask ourselves: Will the words I am about to say build others up and impart grace to those who hear?
May the Lord help us so that our mouths will not become a source of hurt, but instead become a channel of God’s loving grace and blessing to many people. Amen.
Bless you
