😇 Shalom to all.
God’s word today:
“Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another. “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.”
(Ephesians 4:25-27 NKJV)
In this passage, Paul speaks to believers who have been made new in Christ. He does not say, “Never be angry.” Instead, he says, “BE ANGRY, and DO NOT SIN.”
God understands that we feel anger. We are human. We can get hurt. We see injustice. We experience disappointment. But the Lord lovingly warns us: “Do not sin in your anger.”
This passage tells to christians something important:
# Anger itself is not always sin. Even Jesus showed righteous anger (example: toward the Pharisee). Anger can be a natural response to injustice, dishonesty, pride, or hurt. But anger becomes dangerous when:
•It controls us.
•It leads us to hurt others.
•It turns into bitterness.
•We keep it in our hearts too long.
That is why Paul adds, “Do not let the sun go down on your wrath.”
In other words, do not hold onto anger. When anger stays overnight in the heart, it begins to change shape. It turns into resentment. Then into bitterness. And slowly, quietly, it opens a door for the enemy to work. The enemy uses anger to create division, resentment, pride, and broken relationships—especially in families and in the church.
So what should we do when we are angry?
1.Bring it honestly to God in prayer.
2.Examine our hearts humbly.
3.Forgive quickly, as Christ forgave us.
4.Seek peace before the day ends, if possible.
Is there any anger that has not yet been released?
A soft heart protects the soul.
A forgiving spirit closes the door to the enemy.
Prayer:
O Lord Jesus, please teach me to respond in righteousness, not in sin when I am angry. Help me and enable me to forgive quickly and not give any place to the devil. Let Your peace rule in my heart. Amen.
Bless you
