Daily Bread: Rooted in Truth, Growing in Christ

😇 Shalom to all.
God’s word today:

“So that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about by every wind of teaching, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow in every respect into Him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, according to the proper working of each individual part, grows and builds itself up in love.”
(Ephesians 4:14–16)

In these days, the winds of teaching are blowing more strongly than ever.
Social media, the internet, and various theological opinions — all are easily accessible.

The Word of God tells us not to be like children, tossed about by every kind of teaching. Children are usually quick to believe, but also easily carried away. In the same way, Christians who do not grow in God’s Word will be easily influenced. Today they believe one thing; tomorrow they believe something else.
Be wise: Not everything that sounds spiritual is true. Not everything that is popular is in accordance with God’s Word.

So what is our protection?

The Word of God says: “SPEAKING THE TRUTH IN LOVE, we will GROW in every respect INTO Him who is the Head, that is, CHRIST.”

# Live by holding firmly to the truth of God’s Word (in speaking and action).

Not living based on feelings, human words, or trending opinions, but on God’s words.

# Keep growing toward Christ likeness.

When we continually study the Word, pray, and remain faithful in fellowship, we grow in our knowledge of God and toward the character of Christ. And a person who increasingly reflects the character of Christ is not easily led astray.

Lord, enable me to be a christian who firmly holds to the truth of Your Word and grows toward a Christlike character. Amen.
