Daily Bread: Standing Firm on Christ the Cornerstone

😇 Shalom to all.
God’s word today:

“So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the cornerstone. In Him the whole structure is joined together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In Him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.”
(Ephesians 2:19–22)

Paul reminds us that believers are members of God’s household and parts of a spiritual building that God Himself is constructing—built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets, that is, the truth of God’s Word in Scripture. And Christ Jesus is the CORNERSTONE—the most crucial part that determines the direction, alignment, and strength of the entire building.

Imagine a house built with good materials, strong walls, and a beautiful roof. But the cornerstone and foundation are crooked. From the outside, the house may look fine, but over time cracks will appear, and eventually it will collapse. On the other hand, a house with a solid foundation and a properly set cornerstone will withstand rain, wind, and earthquakes.

So it is with the life of a believer. When intimacy with Christ truly becomes the center of our lives, our faith remains firm when trials, pressures, and challenges come.

The ultimate purpose is that we become a dwelling place for God by the Spirit. God is pleased to live and work through the lives of His people, so that the world may see His love and His truth.

May our lives continue to be shaped into a strong house of God, where His presence is made evident to many.

Bless you
