Daily Bread: Salvation by Grace, Life by Purpose

😇 Shalom to all.
God’s word today:

“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.”
(Ephesians 2:8–10)

The salvation of the human spirit and soul is solely the grace of God. We are saved from eternal death not because of our efforts, good deeds, or personal goodness, but as a gift from God—by His grace through faith in Jesus Christ. The cross of Christ is the only foundation of salvation; therefore, no one can boast before God.

However, salvation is not the end, but the beginning of a new life. A person who has been saved is a new creation in Christ, called to live in good works. Doing good works is NOT TO OBTAIN SALVATION, but as the FRUIT OF BEING ALREADY SAVED—a life that learns obedience to God’s Word, grows in love for others, and glorifies God in daily living.

We are saved by grace, not by our own good works. Yet after being saved, we are called to live a life that produces good works as a response of love to God. May we live humbly because of His grace and faithfully walk according to His purpose. Amen.

Bless you
