Daily Bread: A Life Marked by Faith and Love

God’s word today:

“For this reason, ever since I heard about your FAITH in the Lord Jesus and your LOVE for all God’s people, I have not stopped giving thanks for you.”
(Ephesians 1:15–16)

The Apostle Paul gives thanks not only because the believers in Ephesus have faith in the Lord Jesus, but also because that faith is expressed through love for fellow believers, so that their lives become a testimony that strengthens others and brings joy to God’s heart.

Faith connects us to God—we trust, rely on, and place our hope fully in Christ. Love, however, shows how our faith works itself out in everyday life—through our attitudes, words, and actions toward others. Without love, faith can become merely a verbal confession. On the other hand, love without faith loses its true source of strength.

Living faith always produces love, and sincere love is always rooted in faith.

May we as God’s people be known not only for believing in the true God, but also for loving sincerely, so that our lives become a reason for thanksgiving and a testimony to God’s glory.

Lord, strengthen my faith in You and soften my heart to love others. Let my faith and love walk together in my life, so that You may be glorified. Amen.
