Daily Bread: Sharpening One Another in Love and Truth

😇 Shalom to all.
God’s word today:
“Iron sharpens iron; so one person sharpens another.”
— Proverbs 27:17

God designed us to grow not in isolation, but through relationships. Just as iron becomes sharp only through contact and friction, we are shaped through honest conversations, corrections given in love, and relationships that challenge us to become more Christlike characters.

Sometimes process of sharpening feels uncomfortable. A brother or sister may point out something we need to change, or their example may convict us to grow. But when handled with humility, patience, and love, these moments become God’s tools to refine our character.

*Healthy relationships don’t avoid truth — they speak it gently.
*Healthy relationships don’t tear down — they build up.
*Healthy relationships don’t aim to win arguments — they help each other become more like Jesus.

Today, ask yourself:
•Who is sharpening me in Christ?
•Whom am I helping grow with love and truth?
•Do I receive correction with humility—or with pride?

Let us value the people around God uses to shape us — even when the process involves friction. Because sharpening should not meant to harm, but to prepare us for God’s purpose.

May God’s wisdom be bestowed upon parents to teach their children how to deal with conflicts with friends because we believe that our children will be ‘sharpened’ through these situations and their characters will grow more like Christ.

O Lord, my God, thank You for the people You place in my life to help me grow. Give me a humble heart to receive correction and a gentle spirit to sharpen others with love and wisdom. Make me more like Christ through every relationship You give me. Amen.

Bless you
