Daily Bread: Finding God in the Silence

😇 Shalom to all.
God’s word today:

“To you, O Lord, I call; my rock, be not deaf to me, lest, if you be silent to me, I become like those who go down to the pit.”
‭‭(Psalm‬ ‭28‬:‭1‬ ‭ESV‬‬)

Psalm 28 begins with the cry of David’s heart—a prayer born not of comfort, but of great distress—a sense of despair when God seems to be silent.

David was in a situation full of pressure, threat, and uncertainty. He felt as if his life was at an end: “like those who go down to the pit.” But what is remarkable: David did not let his circumstances determine the focus of his heart. He turned the focus of his soul back to God and said: “To you O Lord, I call; my rock – to you I cry, you are my helper.”

What can we learn from this Psalm?
*When God seems to be silent, our faith is tested.
*Focus your heart back on Him, not on the situation.
*God’s help may not be immediately visible, but He never abandons us.

Like David, what if your life feels like “going down to the grave”—stressed, at a dead end, hurt, or betrayed? Let’s your faith cries out: The Lord is my rock, He helper. The Lord hears my cry. Amen.

And in the end, the complaint turns to praise:
“Praise the Lord! For he has heard my cry for mercy.”
‭‭(Psalms‬ ‭28‬:‭6‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

Bless you
