Daily Bread: Choked By Thorns, Longing For Fruit

😇 Shalom to all.
God’s word today:

“The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they GO ON THEIR WAY, they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature.”
( Luke 8:14 NIV )

The parable above is Jesus’ teaching about a person who listens to the teaching of the word of God, accepts it at that time, but afterwards ‘IN DAILY LIFE’ he or she can be overcome by worry, tempted by the pursuit of wealth, and tempted by other pleasures of life, so that the person does not produce a mature character. IT IS GOD’s WIIL for us to produce the fruit of mature character, to be a blessing to those around us, in spite of difficulty in life.

O Lord, with Your help I want to produce a mature divine character. O God, help me to overcome worry, the temptation to pursue wealth, the temptation to pursue other pleasures of life. Amen.
