Daily Bread: Praise The Lord At All Times

😇 Shalom to all.
God’s word today:

“I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.”
‭‭(Psalms‬ ‭34‬:‭1‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

The reference of Psalms 34 is: The young David pretended to be insane before king Achish (or called also as Abimelech)

Psalm 34 is a praise song yet reflects the suffering of David, who was pursued by King Saul’s army. In that high pressure, one day David fled out of the territory of the kingdom of Israel by trying to seek protection from King Achish of Gath. However, David was rejected and became so afraid that he changed his behavior and pretended to be crazy (even though it was ‘pretending’ but if someone wants to do something strange and act like a crazy person, then his soul has been shaken – 1 Samuel 21)

However, David who was shaken in his soul and acted like a crazy person, he still did not want to stop to ‘EXTOL THE LORD AT ALL TIMES, PRAISE IS ALWAYS ON MY LIPS’.

Life-Lesson of Praise that we get from Psalm 34:

*PRAISE IS A COMMITMENT.
David’s declaration to praise the Lord “at all times” challenges us to maintain an attitude of praise regardless of our circumstances. This commitment is a conscious decision to focus on God’s goodness and sovereignty.

*POWER OF THE TONGUE.
The phrase “His praise will always be on my lips” underscores the importance of using our words to glorify God. Our speech should reflect our faith and trust in Him.

*PRAISE AS A LIFESTYLE.
Making praise a continual practice transforms our perspective and aligns our hearts with God’s will. It becomes a lifestyle rather than a mere reaction to favorable situations.

*PRAISING GOD IS A WEAPON.
David defeated his own fear by praising the Lord

Bless you
