Daily Bread: The True Gift Of Christmas

Firman Allah hari ini:

Natal pertama bukanlah tentang hadiah manusia kepada Allah Pencipta semesta, tetapi hadiah Allah kepada umat manusia, yaitu: pemberian putera Allah.

Nabi Yesaya telah bernubuat: “Sebab seorang ANAK TELAH LAHIR UNTUK KITA, SEORANG PUTRA TELAH DIBERIKAN KEPADA KITA; lambang pemerintahan ada di atas bahunya, dan namanya disebutkan orang: Penasihat Ajaib, Allah yang Perkasa, Bapa yang Kekal, Raja Damai.”
(Yesaya 9:5 TB)

Bapa Sorgawi, terima kasih dari lubuk hatiku yang terdalam atas hadiah yang terbaik dan terindah bagi dunia ini, yaitu: pemberian Yesus, Anak Allah, bagi kami.
Aku percaya dan bersyukur bahwa permasalah hidup yang kuhadapi tidak akan membuat aku kewalahan, karena Tuhan adalah PENASIHAT AJAIB; bahwa Engkau memberiku kuasa untuk menjalani hidup dan panggilanku karena Engkau
adalah ALLAH YANG PERKASA; bahwa Engkau melihat masa depanku dan aku akan hidup selamanya bersama-Mu karena Engkau adalah BAPA YANG KEKAL; bahwa aku akan tetap tenang dan mengalami damai sejahtera sekalipun harus melewati peristiwa hidup yang menakutkan karena Engkau adalah RAJA DAMAI. Amin.

The first Christmas was not about man’s gift to God, but God’s gift to mankind: the gift of Son of God.

Prophet Isaiah tells us: “FOR TO US A CHILD IS BORN, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
(Isaiah 9:6 NIV)

Heavenly Father, thank you from the bottom of my heart for the best and most beautiful gift to this world: the gift of Jesus, the Son of God, to us.
I believe and am grateful that the problems of life that I face will not overwhelm me, because God is the WONDERFUL COUNSELOR; that You give me the power to live my life and my calling because You are the MIGHTY GOD; that You see my future and I will live forever with You because You are the EVERLASTING FATHER; that I will remain calm and shall experience peace even though I have to go through frightening life events because You are the PRINCE OF PEACE.
