Daily Bread: Quick to Believe

Shalom 😇 to all.

Amin.

Bless you

😇 Shalom to all
God’s word today:

“As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; but they were kept from recognizing him.”
‭‭(Luke‬ ‭24‬:‭15‬-‭16‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

This is the story on the Sunday of Jesus’ resurrection, there were two disciples of Jesus on the way to Emmaus (7 miles / about 12 km from Jerusalem). Then Jesus approached and walked along with them. The Bible states that “they were KEPT FROM RECOGNIZING HIM.” Something had covered their eyes that they could not recognize it was Jesus.

If two of Jesus’ disciples could not recognize Him who was raised from the dead, today His people can also not recognize God’s work and His grace when He visits His people.
Indeed, we have not seen Jesus’ physical form, but if there is something that ‘blocks our spiritual eyes’ then we can not understand, not recognize the power of God when He is revealing.

And Jesus rebuked them because they had become ‘slow to believe’ the words that were written in the Bible and the words from Jesus’ own mouth. However, God’s mercy for His people never ends, and Jesus opened the eyes of the two disciples and they came to understand and see the person of Jesus who accompanied their journey.

O Lord, help me so that Your servant is not slow to believe. Help me to have a heart that fast to believe and obey God’s Word and follow the Holy Spirit’s voice. Enable Your servant, O Lord. Amen.

Bless you
