Daily Bread: Bearing Fruit Through Intimate Fellowship with God

😇 Shalom to all.
God’s word today:

God described the people of Israel in the Old Testament as His chosen vine. Unfortunately, those who were chosen, cared for and tasted God’s goodness disappointed God because they did not produce the fruit He had hoped for.
“I had planted you like a choice vine of sound and reliable stock. How then did you turn against me into a corrupt, wild vine?”
‭‭(Jeremiah‬ ‭2‬:‭21‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

The Israelites were unable to be like a vine that bore sweet and good fruit. In the New Testament, God gives a new opportunity and guarantee that the branches on the vine can bear good fruit, because the Vine is God Himself. It is the power of God that enables His people to bear fruit; The part of the branches is: only remaining attached to the Vine – this is a picture of close fellowship with God.
““I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
‭‭(John‬ ‭15‬:‭5‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

O Lord, enable me to ‘remain in You’, to have intimate fellowship with the true God, Jesus Christ. Thank you my Lord, and by God’s grace I believe my life will continue to bear fruit of godly character. Amen.

Bless you
