Daily Bread: Serving In God’s House

Firman Allah hari ini:

Alkitab memberitahukan bahwa Samuel sejak masih kanak-kanak sampai remaja sudah membantu pelayanan di Rumah Tuhan di bawah pengawasan imam Eli. Jadi sudah sekitar 10 tahun lamanya Samuel bersama imam Eli dan melayani, namun Alkitab menyatakan juga bahwa
“Samuel belum mengenal Tuhan; firman Tuhan belum pernah dinyatakan kepadanya.”
‭‭(1 Samuel‬ ‭3‬:‭7‬ ‭TB‬‬).

God’s word today:

The Bible tells us that Samuel, from childhood to adolescence, had helped serve in the House of God under the supervision of the priest Eli. So Samuel had been with the priest Eli and served for about 10 years, but the Bible also states that:
“Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord: The word of the Lord had not yet been revealed to him.”
‭‭(1 Samuel‬ ‭3‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

The desire to serve in God’s House, in His church is a good desire, but may our hearts be open and have the desire to know God more.

Let’s pray for ourselves from the apostle Paul’s prayer for the church of Christ in the city of Ephesus:
‘I want to know God more and grow in God’s grace. I ask that God, the glorious Father, will give me the Spirit of wisdom and revelation so that I may know the Lord Jesus and the word of God correctly. Amen.’
(Ephesians 1:16-17)
