Fixing Our Eyes on Jesus: Running the Race with Endurance and Faith

“Nah, mengenai kita sendiri, di sekeliling kita ada banyak sekali saksi! Sebab itu, marilah kita membuang semua yang memberatkan kita dan dosa yang terus melekat pada kita. Dan marilah kita dengan tekun menempuh perlombaan yang ada di depan kita. Hendaklah pandangan kita tertuju kepada Yesus…”

Tuhan, mata hatiku tertuju pada-Mu. Dan aku membuang beban-ketakutan, beban-kebingungan, beban-keraguan terhadap janji firman Allah; aku membuang hal-hal yang bisa membebankan perjalanan imanku. Ya Tuhan, aku memandang Engkau yang tahan menderita di kayu salib, aku memandang bagaimana sengsaranya Yesus Tuhanku menghadapi orang-orang berdosa yang melawan-Nya dengan begitu sengit! Sebab itu aku menolak untuk berkecil hati dan putus asa. Aku percaya Yesuslah yang membangkitkan imanku dan memeliharanya dari permulaan sampai akhir. Amin.

Lord, the eyes of my heart are fixed on You. I throw away the burden of fear, the burden of confusion, the burden of doubt about the promises of God’s word; I strip off every weight that could slow me down in the journey of faith. O Lord, I look up upon you You who endured suffering on the cross, disregarding its shame. That’s why I refuse to be discouraged and despair. I believe Jesus Christ is the champion who initiates and perfects my faith from beginning to end. Amen.
