Daily Bread: Falls In Love With The Truth Of God’s Words

😇 Shalom to all.
Firman Allah hari ini:

“Janji-Mu sangat teruji, dan hamba-Mu MENCINTAINYA. Aku ini kecil dan hina, tetapi titah-titah-Mu TIDAK KULUPAKAN.”
‭‭(Mazmur‬ ‭119‬:‭140‬-‭141‬ ‭TB‬‬)

Suatu hari ada seorang guru bertanya di kelas kepada para murid-nya yang masih remaja, yaitu: Apa yang mereka ketahui atau rasakan tentang ‘jatuh-cinta’.
Dengan malu-malu, para murid memberi beragam jawaban:
*Ada yang mengatakan itu adalah perasaan suka yang mendalam; sesuatu yang membuat hati senang sekaligus berharap cemas;
*Ada yang berkata, jatuh-cinta itu rasa kerinduan untuk selalu dekat dengan orang yang dia jatuh-cinta; juga membuat dorongan untuk berusaha mengetahui hal-hal apa yang disukai dan menyenangkan hati si dia;
*juga ada seorang murid menjawab sambil tersenyum tentang dampaknya: “… si dia hanya menyapa saya tadi pagi, tetapi hati saya senang sekali hingga saya bersemangat sepanjang hari.”

Pemazmur di kitab Mazmur 119 mengungkap rasa hatinya bahwa ‘ia mencintai taurat Tuhan’. Ia jatuh cinta pada firman Allah, pada perintah-Nya dan petunjuk Tuhan di Alkitab. Ia merasakan kesukaan dan kerinduan untuk mencari tahu apa yang Tuhan kehendaki, apa yang menyenangkan hati-Nya. Pemazmur juga menyatakan fiman Allah mendorong ia bersemangat hidup.

Ya Tuhan, kiranya aku boleh jatuh cinta pada kebenararan-firman Tuhan, hatiku digetarkan oleh janji-firman-Mu, dan perintah-Mu membuat aku bersemangat menjalani hidup setiap hari. Amin.

God’s word today:

“Your word is very pure; Therefore Your servant LOVES it. I am small and despised, Yet I do NOT FORGET Your precepts.”

One day, in class a teacher asked the teenage-students: What do they know or feel about ‘falling in love’.
The students shyly gave various answers:
* Some said it was a deep feeling of liking; something that makes the heart happy and at the same time anxious.
* Some said, falling in love is a feeling of longing to always be close to the person who is in love with; also creating the urge to try to find out what things your loved one likes and pleases;
* There was also a student who answered with a smile about the impact: “… he only greeted me this morning, but my heart was so happy that I was excited all day long.”

The psalmist in Psalm 119 expressed his feelings that ‘he loves the law of the Lord’. He fell in love with God’s word, His commandments and God’s instructions in the Bible. He felt joy and longing to find out what God wanted, what pleased His heart. The psalmist also stated that God’s word encouraged him to be enthusiastic about life.

Oh God, help me to have a heart that falls in love with the truth of God’s words; touch my heart to be thrilled by Your promises, and may Your commands make me enthusiastic about living my life every day. Amen.
