Daily Bread: Do You Need A Life Guide?

Firman Allah hari ini:

“Tuhan membimbing orang yang rendah hati, dan mengajar mereka kehendak-Nya.”
‭‭(Mazmur‬ ‭25‬:‭9‬ ‭BIMK‬‬)

Tuhan siap dan bersedia membimbing Anda menjalani hidup, tetapi pertama-tama Anda harus mengakui bahwa Anda membutuhkan bimbingan-Nya.

Kebanyakan orang tidak benar-benar ingin mengikuti petunjuk Tuhan atau orang lain. Mereka ingin menempuh jalan mereka sendiri. Alih-alih melakukan apa yang Tuhan inginkan, orang-orang mengambil jalannya sendiri.

“Kita semua tersesat seperti domba, masing-masing mencari jalannya sendiri…” (Yesaya‬ ‭53‬:‭6‬ ‭BIMK‬‬).
Umat ​​Tuhan itu “seperti domba”; domba pada dasarnya cenderung menyimpang dari jalannya. Itulah sebabnya domba membutuhkan bimbingan dari gembala. Hal lain tentang domba adalah penglihatannya yang buruk. Mereka tidak dapat melihat jauh ke depan. Tidak mengherankan jika Alkitab membandingkan kita dengan domba! Karena kita tidak dapat melihat jauh ke masa depan, kita bahkan tidak tahu apa yang akan terjadi esok hari. Oleh karena itu, hidup kita harus bergantung pada Tuhan yang hidup, Pribadi yang dapt melihat masa depan. Kita membutuhkan Tuhan untuk menjadi gembala kita dan menuntun kita di jalan yang benar.

Tuhan, aku butuh Engkau. Tolonglah aku ya Tuhan, dan tuntunlah aku ke jalan yang benar. Amin.

God’s word today:

“He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.”
‭‭(Psalms‬ ‭25‬:‭9‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

God is ready and willing to guide you through life, but first you need to admit you need a guide.

Most people don’t really want to follow God or anybody else. They want to go their own way. Instead of doing what God wants them to do, people take matters into their own hands.

Isaiah 53:6 says, “All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own…” (NLT).
God’s people is “like sheep”; sheep by nature, tend to wander off the path. That’s why sheep need guidance from a shepherd. Another thing about sheep is that they have poor vision. They can’t see very far ahead. It’s not surprising that the Bible compares us to sheep! For we can not see far into the future, we do not even know what would happen tomorrow. Therefore, our lives must depend on the living God, the One who sees the future. We need God to be our shepherd and lead us on the right path.

God, I need you. Help me o God, and lead me into the right path. Amen.
