Daily Bread: Testimony of Jesus

Firman Allah hari ini:

“Kalian mempelajari Alkitab sebab menyangka bahwa dengan cara itu kalian mempunyai hidup sejati dan kekal. Dan ALKITAB ITU SENDIRI MEMBERI KESAKSIAN TENTANG AKU. Tetapi kalian tidak mau datang kepada-Ku untuk mendapat hidup kekal.”
‭‭(Yohanes‬ ‭5‬:‭39‬-‭40‬ ‭BIMK‬‬)

Dihadapan berbagai kalangan masyarakat, termasuk para pemuka agama Yahudi saat itu, Yesus menegaskan bahwa inti
tulisan di Alkitab adalah MEMBERI KESAKSIAN TENTANG DIRI YESUS, yang adalah Allah pemberi hidup kekal.
Jadi ketika membaca firman di Alkitab dan bila kita dapat melihat pada hubungannya dengan pribadi Yesus, maka membaca Alkitab
bukanlah sekedar kegiatan rutinitas dan menambah pengetahuan akademis saja, tetapi mengenal Pribadi Allah yang hidup. Bukankah kita mau bertumbuh dalam
pengenalan akan Allah yang hidup?

Saya percaya bahwa tulisan dalam Alkitab adalah Firman Allah, dan saya percaya dapat melihat Pribadi Yesus, dan dapat mengenal dan bergaul dengan Allah yang hidup melalui pemahaman akan Alkitab. Amin.

God’s word today:

““You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But THE SCRIPTURES POINT TO ME!” “Yet you refuse to come to me to receive this life.”
‭‭(John‬ ‭5‬:‭39-40‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

In front of various groups of people, including Jewish religious leaders at that time, Jesus emphasized that the core of the writings in the Bible is to BEAR TESTIMONY ABOUT and POINT TO JESUS, who is God the giver of eternal life.
So when reading the words in the Bible and if we can see its relationship with the person of Jesus, then reading the Bible is not just a routine activity and for increasing academic knowledge, but getting to know and have a fellowship with the Person of the living God. Don’t we want to grow knowing the living God?

I believe that the writings in the Bible are the Word of God, and I believe that I can see the Person of Jesus, and grow in the knowledge of Him, and have a fellowship with the living God through understanding the Bible. Amen.
